I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Slow Cooker Pork Roast from Frozen with Veggies

So, no, I don't always have a dinner plan. This recipe is great for last minuters. Grab that roast from the freezer and right into the slow cooker!

2  1/4 lb boneless pork loin
2 onions, sliced
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
1 1/2 cups diced turnips
2 small apples, unpeeled cut in wedges
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1 bay leaf
1 cup broth (beef, chicken or veg)

Slice onions and put in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Mix the spices together and coat the pork. Sit the meat on top of the onions. Add the bay leaf, veggies and apple.

Pour the broth in at the side, not over the meat.

Cover and cook on high 4 1/2 hours

That was easy!
