I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Football Brownies

Ok, so you have to use your imagination a little to see the football. Don't worry if they're not perfect, no one will even notice anyways.

4 squares semi-sweet chocolate
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsps vanilla
3/4 cup flour
pinch of salt

3/4 cup icing sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tsps milk or 10% cream

Start by melting the chocolate in the microwave on high 1  1/2 minutes. Remove from microwave and add the butter. Stir to melt. Zap it again for a bit if the butter doesn't melt all the way, then add the sugar.

Add eggs, vanilla, flour and salt and beat until combined. There is no baking powder in this recipe.

Line 2 baking pans with parchment paper. I used 2 - 9 X9" pans but if you want a thicker brownie use 2 - 8 X 8" pans and increase the bake time by about 5 minutes.

Pour batter into prepared pans and bake at 325F for 35-40 minutes.

Once cooled lift out of the pan using the parchment. Cut off the edges then cut in diagonals. Hopefully you can cut more evenly than I, but like I said before...who's going to notice?

Mix the icing sugar, vanilla and milk and spoon into a plastic bag. Snip the end off and start making those laces.

Ready to watch the game?
