I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Honey Cornbread

I felt like having cornbread with my chili, but hubby was like "I don't like cornbread...I don't like the texture of it." Well, I didn't have any fine cornmeal so I just whirled my gritty cornmeal in the food processor a bit.

1/2 cup fine cornmeal
1  1/2 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 tbsps melted margarine or butter
2 tbsps liquid honey
2 eggs
1  1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup kernel corn
1/2 tsp chili flakes
Sprinkle paprika

Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.
Add the oil, marg, honey, eggs and milk. Then stir in the corn and chili flakes.

Pour into 8 mini loaf pans that have been prepared with cooking spray. Give them each a little sprinkle of paprika.

Bake at 350 F for 25-30 minutes

"Hey, these are good!" he said.

Why does he always sound surprised?
