I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

St Patrick's Day Sugar Cookies

Everybody is Irish on St Patrick's Day!

Using this Five Roses Flour recipe for sugar cookies,

just add some green food colouring to the cookie dough and cut out some lucky shamrocks. (I know, this is a club not a shamrock cookie cutter but it works, right?)

You can add coloured sugar to the tops or bake them plain.

Once cooled frost the plain ones with your favourite icing.  I just creamed a couple of tbsps of butter along with a splash of vanilla extract. Then added icing sugar and a bit of milk mixing until smooth. No real measurements just mix until you like the consistency.
Spread the icing on the cookies, pipe it on if you want to get fancy, then add your sprinkles.
Happy St Patrick's Day!
