I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

End of Summer Green Bean Salad

The end of summer is fast approaching and the green beans are coming fast and furious. Here's a simple sidedish salad.

1 lb fresh green beans
1/3 English cucumber
1 stalk celery
2 tomatoes, quartered

Dressing:
1/8 cup olive oil
2 tbsps balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp white wine
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp minced garlic clove
pepper to taste

Julienne the green beans or leave whole. Chop the cucumber and celery.
Mix the dressing ingredients together and toss with the beans, cucs and celery. Chill about 3 hours.

Remove from fridge and add the tomatoes.

It's September 1st and it's supposed to be hot and sunny all week!  Enjoy it while it lasts!
