I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Banana Black Bean Brownies

Such a moist brownie!  And no one would ever know that the main ingredient is black beans.

540 ml/19 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 ripe banana
1 tsp almond extract
1 tbsp instant coffee granules
1/2 plus 1/4 cup chocolate chips

Purée the first 8 ingredients together in a food processor.
Fold in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and pour into  parchment lined 9 X 9 baking pan. If you use an 8 X 8 pan you'll have a thicker brownie.  Just bake it a few minutes longer.
Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips on top.
Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes.
Serve plain or a la mode like this with a scoop of frozen vanilla yogurt.
