I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Blueberry Apple Streusel Pie

There's no way of taking a good picture of an ugly pie.  But it does taste good.

A single pie shell
2 cups blueberries
1 medium apple,chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
pinch salt
1 tbsp butter

Streusel:
1/2 cup flour
2 tbsps. brown sugar
2 tbsps cream cheese
1 tbsp. oats

Mix berries, apple, sugar, flour  and salt together and put into pie shell.  Dot with butter.
Mix together the streusel topping using a pastry blender.
Sprinkle on top of pie.  Gently pat down.

Bake 400 F for 30 minutes.  You might want to broil it 2-3 minutes.
Let rest a couple of hours before cutting
See, it's kind of ugly.  Or should I say "rustic"?
